ProjectsOver the last eight years Just Rural Development Trust has been instrumental in providing and maintaining holistic and environmentally and economically sustainable community projects. These projects aim to build stronger, safer and healthier communities. Past and present projects include: Opening of the School for Social EntrepreneursJRD Trust provided the catering (all organic and locally sourced) at this auspicious two-day event, feeding such important local and national figures as Gordon Brown and Lewis Mooney.
Burntisland Social Resource CentreThe opening of this centre enabled JRD trust with the opportunity to increase and enhance a wide variety of community projects, assisted by a dedicated group of volunteers and training placements. ![]() Fife’s Coastal Path TrustUpon completion in 2002, JRD Trust provided a superior organic buffet and warm welcome to over four hundred guests attending the two day opening event of Fife’s Coastal Path.
West Wemyss Organic Internet CafeThe opening of West Wemyss first ever organic internet café in 2002 heralded a major breakthrough for JRD Trust as it provided us with our first permanent base from which to run our community projects.
Training ProgrammesWe currently provide a variety of holistic and valued placements to unemployed and marginalized individuals throughout Fife. These programme’s enable vulnerable individuals the opportunity to learn various soft skills, whilst offering them hope, encouragement and raising their self esteem and self worth within the community.
Green Stock MarketFebruary 2008 saw the launch of Fife’s first indoor Green Stock Market. This recycling bazaar uses innovative ideas and methods to recycle toys, books, tools and skills. It also enables local individuals and small businesses an opportunity to highlight local arts and crafts.whilst advocating a holistic ethos to recycling, healthy living and strengthening community friendships and relationships.
Fife Real Nappy NetworkJRD Trust championed Fife’s first real nappy network, providing FREE impartial advice, information and support to parents, grandparents and carers living in Fife about the benefits of using real cloth nappies. Until February 2008 we were funded by the Scottish Parliament to offer a £30 cashback incentive to anyone resident within Fife. |
