About JRD TrustJust Rural Development Trust was established as a non-profit organisation in 2000 by a small group of visionaries who, through intensive and documented research , identified the social/cultural diversity inherent in vulnerable and marginalised individuals, groups and communities throughout Fife. Their holistic and compassionate beliefs embodied the ethos that everyone has the right to lead a happy and fulfilled life. Their vision was (and still is ) to develop projects that empowered social inclusion by providing accessible training whilst embracing change and nurturing challenge. Since 2000 JRD Trust has successfully introduced several sustainable projects throughout Fife, including:
JRD Trust was awarded charitable status in 2004 and this allowed us to strengthen partnerships and further develop projects that truly conveyed and represented our mission statement - ”To provide equal access to good health, educational wealth and inner happiness through training, education and opportunity and to build sustainable bridges that communicate equality, respect, trust and the confidence to succeed”. Over the last eight years JRD Trust has continued to provide a voice for, and helping hand to, those sections of our community who are most in need. Our holistic approach to creating positive platforms for vulnerable and marginalized sections of the community that will support positive change, equal opportunity and self respect are perhaps best observed through our current projects. Nappy Network — in partnership with the Scottish Government and NHS we aim to raise awareness of the environmental and financial benefit to parents, grandparents and carers of using real cloth nappies. Woman’s room — we have dedicated a room in our building to woman/woman’s groups where they can meet and chat over coffee in safe and tranquil surroundings. Organic restaurant — we aim to provide healthy, nutritional and affordable meals in our restaurant .through our restaurant we also aim to provide training to. Organic Stock Exchange — a recycling bazaar using innovative ideas and methods, to recycle toys, books, tools and skills and to highlight local arts and crafts. Community workshop — provide both space and opportunity to run a diverse range of educational and recreational workshop. Mobile Workshop — Our single deck bus will be raising awareness of health issues to communities throughout Fife. Healing room — a serene and healing environment to access a wide range of complimentary therapies. |
